Arizona's immigration law protects its citizens

Arizona deserves support not boycotts. Their people have had the courage to pass a much-needed Illegal Alien law. Every State in the Union should follow suit. The law needs minor adjustments to be constitutional. Every Sovereign State has a right to pass its own laws governing behavior of its citizens.

The federal government has the responsibility to control immigration. There is no need for racial profiling. The law applies to everyone.

If an individual does anything illegal, ranging from theft to disturbing the peace, an officer should have the right to ask for proof that he/she is a legal US citizen. If not, the individual should go directly to jail. Arizona also offers a good option to be the jailer for states that need extra capacity. After the offender serves time he/she should be turned over to the Federal Immigration authorities.

The past practice of catch and release, along with amnesty of illegal residents, is leading to anarchy. Legal immigrants coming from Latin America make excellent citizens.

Illegal aliens, bring crime, drugs, gangs, murder, and overload health care. The millions of illegal persons living in the U.S. now would have strong incentive to behave if the Arizona law were to become universal. This week an Arizona Deputy was shot.

No state should put up with such nonsense.

The border with Mexico is a national security risk that should not be tolerated.
