Kindergarten teacher holds court:

A former Rolling Meadows kindergarten teacher turns 80 this year and for her birthday, she has only one wish: to reunite with her former students, faculty and staff from her days teaching at the former Cardinal Drive, Salk and Kimball Hill schools.

Jerrine Placek will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Rolling Meadows Community Center, formerly Salk School, located at 3705 Pheasant Drive in Rolling Meadows.

She hopes her collection of class photos and other memorabilia will spark fond memories and lively conversation with her former students and colleagues.
