Golf course receives honor
The Schaumburg Golf Club golf course has earned recognition as a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary" by Audubon International.
It is the 49th course in Illinois and the 772nd in the world to receive the honor.
To earn the certification, staff members worked on environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and water quality management.
The program is designed to enhance wildlife habitats while preserving the heritage of golf. For more information on the process, visit auduboninternational.org.
