Elginbull; A purse containing $300 in gift cards was stolen between 1 and 3 p.m. Wednesday from a 2004 Cadillac Escalade in the 200 block of North Grove Avenue, reports said.bull; Edwin G. Santiago, 23, of the 200 block of Locust Street, Elgin, was arrested and charged with obstruction and resisting arrest at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of South Crystal Street, reports said. Police were called to the area for people loitering and Santiago began shouting obscenities at police, according to reports.bull; The galvanized steel goal posts at two football fields south of Larkin High School, 1475 Larkin Ave., were reported stolen Wednesday, reports said. The goal posts, valued at $4,000, were discovered missing at 9:28 a.m. June 10, but police were not notified until this week.Lake in the Hillsbull; Police are looking for a man they say threw rocks at 14-year-old girl Tuesday from the passenger seat of a pickup truck that was following her. Police say the incident originated about 2:45 p.m. at Frank and Miller roads with the passenger trying to talk to the girl while she was riding her bike. The driver followed the girl west on Miller Road to Kings Gate Lane and to Glacier Ridge School. At that point, the passenger threw rocks and other unknown objects at the girl, said Sgt. Mark Mogan. The suspect is described as a Latino man between 30 and 40 years old with a slim build, round face, a receding hairline with a widow's peak and a medium complexion. He was last seen in a white, older model Chevrolet pickup truck, possibly a Silverado, that had tools sticking out of the rear of the cab, a white cap on the bed and rust on the lower part of the passenger side door. Police said the explosion blew apart the portable toilet at the seams and sent its roof some 20 feet down an embankment on the south side of the road. Authorities reviewed surveillance footage from the scene but found no evidence of the bomber.
