Hope and change has changed
Americans voted in the last presidential election for hope and change. Many have buyer's remorse because the hope and change they wanted is not what they got. Instead what they got was worse than more of the same.
Many of the promises have not come to fruition. Political corruption has surpassed all previous standards. Long time politicians got sweetheart deals. Spending levels have far surpassed all other administrations combined.
Race has become an issue especially when both illegal immigrants and the federal government are ignoring the U.S. borders.
Why were TARP, stimulus and the bailouts hastily passed with no oversight? Trillions of dollars were moved around, some of which can't be accounted for. How many people were arrested and charged in this financial debacle? None.
Congress went nuts over Goldman Sachs but why hasn't anyone charged Fannie and Freddie with anything or, for that matter, hold Barney Frank accountable?
Congress should be trying to get restitution from those who made millions and caused the problem. Confiscating their money, property, boats and etc. would help take the innocent taxpayers off the hook.
Since the new president took over things have steadily gotten worse by acting like everything is a crisis. Blame Clinton, Bush, the new president and Congress because they protect their own interests not ours.
Politics, greed and empathy are changing America. Politicians feel that we should be in line with the rest of the world. I believe that we are the leaders of the world and should remain that independent ray of light the rest of the world envies. The hope is to follow the principles on which our country was founded. The change voters seek is a smaller less-intrusive government that is independent not codependent on the rest of the world. We are leaders not followers.
