Walk raises $15,000 for cancer research

The F.A.B. 5K staged Saturday, June 12, at Patton School in Arlington Heights raised $15,000 for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The runners and walkers totaled 274, said Lesley Delahanty, one of the organizers. T

he event honored Sarah Lopez, whose children attend Patton, and others who have had breast cancer. Delahanty and her three running partners who organized the fun run hope to make it an annual event.

The initials stand for The Fight Against Breast Cancer.

Organizers were thrilled that a fun run in Arlington Heights drew 274 participants and $15,000 in donations for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
