Pedestrian killed by train in Woodstock

A pedestrian was killed by an eastbound commuter train in Woodstock Monday afternoon, police said.

The incident took place a few minutes before 2 p.m. at the Short Street crossing.

Emergency responders are still on the scene to try to determine if the death was accidental and to identify the victim.

The death comes just a couple weeks after a 51-year-old man was killed by a train in Crystal Lake and a little more than a month after former Metra Executive Director Phil Pagano killed himself by stepping in front of a Metra train.
