Lake County briefs
Shed building made easy:Homeowners in unincorporated Lake County will find it easier to place a shed on their property. A new, streamlined process, effective immediately, exempts residential sheds of 100 square feet or less from county permit requirements. Property owners are required to read and agree to location requirements and pay a $25 registration fee. The cost of a shed permit had been $101. While a property owner must register a shed project before construction, construction of the shed can begin immediately upon receiving registration confirmation, which generally is done within 24 hours. They are as follows: Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire (167), Highland Park High School (317), Grayslake Central High School (552), Vernon Hills High School (691), Libertyville High School (1024), Grayslake North High School (1069) and Warren Township High School in Gurnee (1553).
