Two killed in Elk Grove motorcycle crash

An investigation continues to determine the cause of a single-vehicle motorcycle accident that killed two Schaumburg residents Sunday evening in Elk Grove Village.

Elk Grove Fire Department Battalion Chief Mark Sellers said they were called to the corner of Higgins Road and Seegers Avenue at 7:39 p.m.

Brandon Heller, the 31-year-old male driver of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling westbound on Higgins Road, died at the scene. Shannon Buyle, the 32-year-old female passenger, was transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village and was pronounced dead on arrival, authorities said.

Though it had rained Sunday, Elk Grove Police Traffic Sgt. Nick Olsen said the roads were dry at the time of the accident.

Right now, Olsen said they don't know what caused the crash, only that the motorcycle "strolled onto the right shoulder of the road and lost control."
