19-year-old Glen Ellyn man stabbed in Glendale Heights
Glendale Heights police say they are continuing to search for clues in the early Monday morning stabbing of a 19-year-old Glen Ellyn man.
Police said the victim was found shortly after midnight, laying in a driveway in the 1400 block of Westchester Drive. He had a minor stab wound in his abdomen.
Police said the victim reported he was stabbed while struggling with an unknown man who tried to rob him at the intersection of Armitage Avenue and Chapman Court.
Cmdr. Steve Ewoldt said investigators have been working with the victim to develop a composite drawing of the suspect.
The assailant is described as a black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a red baseball cap, red shirt and dark jeans.
Ewoldt said the case does not appear gang-related. He said the victim and suspect do not appear to know each other.
Police have been canvassing the area and knocking on neighbors' doors looking for witnesses who might have seen or heard anything.
They are asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact detectives at (630) 260-6070.
