We the people need to stop the bribery
Diane Niesman (Fence Post, June 5) very carefully made the case that government is not working for us, but her proposed remedy - "We, the people, need to remind our president, senators, and representatives for whom they are working and to whom they must answer." - would hardly correct the problem.
To prevent the continued corruption of our government by lobbyists we should stop the bribery. We should pass legislation making financial contributions to government officials by lobbyists illegal.
