Kids make their own movie at Arlington Heights camp

Movie Star Camp, June 28-July 1, at Forest View Educational Center in Arlington Heights, offers an opportunity for kids to learn film acting skills and then be in a short film.

The movie is shot by professionals, and when the film is complete, the kids are given a chance to walk the red carpet at their very own movie premiere in September.

Movie Star Camp is a product of Popcorn Media, a Utah company founded by Arlington Heights native Steven Anderson.

Movie Star Camp is being done in collaboration with Northwest Suburban High School District 214 Community Education, with class from 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Wednesday and the movie shoot on Thursday at 2121 S. Goebbert Road. The camp is appropriate for ages 6-15 with any level of experience and the fee is $175, which includes film acting instruction with experienced teachers, a feature role for all participants in an original 10-minute movie, a professionally filmed and edited movie, a DVD copy and the red carpet premiere.
