Big catch awaits families at Hoffman's fish derby

Fishermen of all ages will once more converge for the Hoffman Estates chamber's annual community fishing derby from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at South Ridge Lake, 1450 Freeman Road.

The prime catch will be a fish tagged with a $1,000 gift card from Cabela's outdoors store.

No fishing license is required and registration is $3 before the event at Cabela's, 5225 Prairie Stone Parkway, Hoffman Estates Community Bank, 1375 Palatine Road or the chamber office, 2200 W. Higgins Road. Registration is $5 on Saturday.
