Will it be Leighton or Boucher? Laviolette not saying

Philadelphia coach Peter Laviolette knows something you don't, though his secret isn't likely to change either the Blackhawks' or the Flyers' destiny in the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals.

On Monday, barely 14 hours after yanking starting goalie Michael Leighton after one period of Game 5, Laviolette revealed he has determined his starter for Game 6 on Wednesday at the Wachovia Center.

However, he wouldn't say whether Leighton will continue to start or backup Brian Boucher will get the nod.

"I want to make sure I do it at the right time and when I want to do it," Laviolette said. "I reserve the right to say when and where."

Leighton didn't like being pulled after allowing 3 goals in the first period Sunday, but he seemed to understand.

"Chicago outbattled us the first period," Leighton said. "They earned their goals in the first period and that's what hurt us. For some reason, we weren't ready to play and it cost us the game."

Leighton stopped 10 of 13 shots before being lifted for the first time since Game 1. Boucher parried 11 of 14 shots before the Flyers switched to an extra attacker with two minutes to go.

" 'Bouch' made some great saves and kept us in it," Leighton said.

Boucher hadn't played so many minutes since Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against Boston.

He started the Flyers' first 10 postseason games before spraining both knees in a pileup near the net. He allowed before Game 2 that his left knee has been more bothersome than his right but said after Game 5 that he's healthy.

Boucher also offered some words that suggest he's not expecting to start Game 6.

"I don't know if there's any issue here," he said. "I needed to go in and shut the door to give us a chance to win. It didn't happen."
