Three Elburn, one Maple Park and two Batavia businesses sold alcohol to undercover, underage state agents May 18 and 20.
The Illinois Liquor Control Commission sent underage agents into eight places in Batavia May 18, and an undisclosed number of Elburn and Maple Park places May 20.
According to a news release from the state commission, those that failed are:
• Salt Creek BBQ, 220 N. Randall Road, Batavia;
• Chili's Bar and Grill, 491 N. Randall Road, Batavia;
• Schmidt's Towne Tap, 107 N. Main St., Elburn;
• Riley's Classic American Bar, 117 N. Main St., Elburn;

The Batavia charges against licensees will be adjudicated by Mayor Jeff Schielke, who is the city's liquor commissioner. Typically, Batavia police also give tickets to the workers who made the sales, and those are processed in Kane County circuit court.
