Golf outing benefits Wheeling Family Learning Program

Registration is now being accepted for the Family Learning Program Benefit Golf Outing on Tuesday, Aug. 10.

Proceeds support the Family Learning Program offered by the Wheeling Park District and Wheeling Township Elementary District 21. This unique initiative provides educational life skills to parents in second-language families while their children enjoy supervised recreation activities.

The award-winning program has expanded over the last five years to serve many more families in the area and improve the quality of life in the community.

The outing takes place at noon at Chevy Chase Country Club, 1000 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling. The $95 registration fee includes 18 holes of golf with cart, course games, box lunch, cocktails and dinner. The dinner only costs $35.

Registration forms are available at the Wheeling Park District, 333 W. Dundee Road, in Wheeling, and online at wheelingparkdistrict.com/FLPGolfOuting. Hole sponsors, donations of auction and raffle items and in-kind services are being sought.

For information, contact Matt Wehby, parks director, at (847) 465-2937.
