Hanover Park man charged with possession
A 32-year-old Hanover Park man appeared in bond court Saturday after being charged with possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, both felonies.
Around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Streamwood police had stopped a man who appeared drunk when Cesar L. Euan, of the 5500 block of Court G in Hanover Park, walked by and police detected the smell of cannabis.
Euan allegedly admitted to police he had cannabis, which was found in his backpack along with multiple plastic bags and a digital scale. Police conducted an on-site test of the substance, which proved positive for 46.9 grams of cannabis, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Bill Cotter. The incident was about 400 feet from a public park in Streamwood, Cotter said.
Judge Samuel Betar set a $15,000 bond for Euan and ordered him to appear for a hearing July 1 at the courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
