Cheap stuff: Classic baseball, Nigel Mack, line dancing

Learn how the game of baseball was played in the Civil War era as Cantigny Park hosts an old-time baseball exhibition tournament. The tournament features the Beloit Olympians, the Downers Grove Plowboys, the Oregon Ganymedes and Cantigny's own team, the Oak Leafs. Spectators will receive a list of rules and baseball slang from pre-Civil War days. Guests are invited to bring blankets and chairs for seating.

Fine arts and fun

The Deerfield Festival of Fine Arts offers activities for all ages. This juried fine arts and crafts show features artists from across the country with original media including oil, watercolor, jewelry, ceramics, glass and more. Seniors celebrate

Lake County seniors ages 55 and older are invited to attend the Lake County Forest Preserves' 38th Annual Seniors Day Celebration. Thousands of seniors are expected at the fest which includes music, dancing, pontoon boat rides, food and tours of the forest preserve.

Forever young

The Young at Heart Singles Club invites ballroom dancers of all ages to an evening of music and dancing. Dress code for women is semi-dressy to dressy. Men are required to wear jackets. No jeans or gym shoes.

Nigel sings the blues

Nigel Mack brings his group Nigel Mack & The Blues Attack to the Harlem Avenue Lounge for an evening of blues. The group will perform classic blues tunes from artists such as BB King, James Cotton and Elmore James, along with selections from Mack's latest CDs. Mack's tunes have been featured on television's "Dawson's Creek" and other network shows.
