Des Plaines company wants to make all your connections

Des Plaines-based Decision Systems Plus Inc., which offers computer, security and telephone infrastructure to companies, aims to hire more people this year and expand its offerings.

Since its founding about 25 years ago, Decision Systems (www.dspi.com) has grown to about 20 workers and offers everything around and over the software that keeps desktops, the Internet, cloud computing and other electronic services running. The company also sells phone systems to companies, which are then managed, stored and maintained off site.

"We do the entire picture, or just some pieces," said CEO Randy Wear.

Wear started the company in 1985 in his Park Ridge home. He had no staff or clients. "It was character building," he said.

The company soon hired its first workers and moved to a variety of offices in Des Plaines and Rosemont and then back to Des Plaines, now with a long-term lease.

The company has garnered about 1,000 clients, including Buona Beef and Azteca Foods. Wear said he added some staff last year, but he's looking to hire about 10 more people this year, especially in customer service and other areas. It's all geared toward ensuring his business customers have a reliable and complete resource with his company.

"We want to make it all work for them," Wear said.
