Liberal press shows its stripes

Twice as many brave Americans have died in the first five months of 2010 in Afghanistan and Iraq combat as in the same period last year, yet no one in the mainstream press deems this worthy of headline. A liberal press, far too eager to bludgeon the Bush administration mercilessly with similarly daunting numbers, today opts to remain curiously silent and disengaged from reality.

Not too surprisingly, Toyota, British Petroleum and the state of Arizona serve as the whipping boys du jour, relentlessly pursued by a left wing media armed with awesome, limitless power to decide just what news is "fit to print."

In Jefferson's words, "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free ... it expects what never was and never will be."

Seek out alternative news sources to self-educate and remain informed. Distrust pre-anointed "experts" claiming to be sole arbiters of the gospel. Be willing to "challenge the assertion" with facts not fiction. Think, don't "feel" your way to an opinion. Dedicate yourself as much to legitimate American history as you do to "American Idol." In doing so, you guarantee the promise of the American dream to "ourselves and our posterity."
