Distracted driving the bigger concern

After reading the Fence Post submission by Itasca Police Chief Scott Heher, I have some observations. People who do not put on their safety belt harm only themselves.

On the other hand, people who drive distracted can injure or kill others without being harmed. Perhaps the Itasca Police Department (and all others) should concentrate on ridding the road of dangerous people who; talk on cell phones, text, read, put on makeup and finger nail polish, etc. while driving.

If the goal is to save lives, that seems to be a better way to do it.
