Road closures in Kane:Daily lane closures of one northbound lane on Randall Road, just north of Thornwood Avenue in South Elgin, will last through Friday. The closure, which will start about 9 a.m., is required to allow for the installation of new storm sewer lines along Randall Road. Beginning Saturday there will be daily lane closures in the vicinity of Route 25 near the Illinois Prairie Path between St. Charles and South Elgin. Closures will be during daytime hours and are needed to allow for new road paving of Stearns Road near the bridge project. The work should conclude June 9. Concerns or questions about the closures can be directed to David Boesch of the Kane County Transportation Department at (630) 845-7875.Concert for charity:Teen bands including Red Tie Trio, Lightspeak and B-Town Brass Band will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Eastside Community Center in Batavia in a benefit for the American Cancer Society. Tickets are $10 and include pizza, drink, dessert and two raffle tickets. The event is organized by the Batavia High School Key Club.Indian Trail work ramping up:A traffic shift through the construction area on East Indian Trail Road in Aurora will necessitate the closing of the left turn lanes at Church Road for both eastbound and westbound traffic on Tuesday. Officials expect the turn lanes to be closed for about one month. Motorists are asked to consider alternate routes.Asthma screenings:Free asthma screenings will be available next month at the Allergy Asthma Clinics of Fox Valley. The events are planned for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 21 at 1705 South St., Geneva, and June 28 at 1315 N. Highland Ave., Suite 202, Aurora. It seeks sports memorabilia and uniforms before 1970, women's sports memorabilia before 1975, memorabilia or uniforms pertaining to the 1927 Geneva High School football team, 1920s and 1930s Geneva High School track and field teams, the 1940s Geneva High School football teams, 1930s and 1940s Geneva High School wrestling teams, the 1963 Geneva High School basketball team, the 1968 Geneva High School football team, and memorabilia pertaining to women's high school basketball from 1900-1912 and the Geneva High School Girls' Athletic Association.
