New health facility open houseAn open house for the Lake County Health Department's new Administrative and Clinical Office Building at 3010 Grand Ave., Waukegan, will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 26. Guided tours will be available. Designed by Kluber Architects and Engineers, the three-story, 85,000-square-foot building allows the health department to consolidate most of its administrative offices into one location while also offering medical, dental and behavioral health services for the community. The facility and campus renovations also provide more coordinated, efficient and accessible care, and help alleviate crowding in several facilities. The proposed $20,000 contract needs board approval. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the main fire station, 1000 N. Midlothian Road.Audit reports postedMonthly audit reports for Lake Villa Township will be posted online following recent action by the township board. The complete audits will be posted at www.lakevillatownship.org. They list every check the township wrote for the prior month, as well as the amount, vendor or employee, transaction description and the account it came from. Supervisor Dan Venturi says the move allows for more accountability and transparency.District 128 board meetsThe Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128 board meets tonight to welcome the newest student representatives to the panel, approve staff changes and discuss other business. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. at Vernon Hills High, 145 N. Lakeview Parkway. It is open to the public.Seniors Day plannedThe Lake County Forest Preserve District's annual Seniors Day celebration is set for June 9 at the Independence Grove Forest Preserve near Libertyville. It will run from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to Lake County residents 55 or older. Exhibits, activities, food and games are planned. Registration is not required. Admission is free.
