Hanover Park man charged with hitting man in head with brick

A Hanover Park man is accused of hitting a Aurora man over the head with brick in a fight, leaving the victim hospitalized in serious condition.

Christopher L. Bussey, 25, of the 6900 block of Longmeadow in Hanover Park, was charged with aggravated battery. Roselle police said Bussey admitted to striking the victim with a broken landscape brick during a fight.

Roselle police and paramedics responded just after 4:20 a.m. Sunday to reports of an unconscious man bleeding from his head on the 500 block of north May Street in Roselle. The victim, a 27-year-old Aurora man, was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village for treatment.

The victim remains in serious condition with a skull fracture at the hospital, police said.

Bussey appeared in court on Tuesday. He is being held on a $25,000 bond in Cook County jail. Bussey's next court date is set for 9 a.m. June 9 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse.
