Elginbull; Cesar F. Lara, 20, of the 300 block of Copper Springs Lane, Elgin, was arrested and charged with marijuana possession at 12:54 a.m. Monday in the 0-99 block of State Street, reports said. Lara was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over because of a burned out taillight, reports said. Officers smelled marijuana smoke and found 5.5 grams of the drug on Lara's person, reports said. He is due in court June 11, reports said.bull; Nathaniel K. Koski, 19, of the 100 block of Washburn Street, Elgin, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass at 12:37 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of Locust Street, reports said. Koski is on the banned list for the Buena Vista apartment complex, police said. He is accused of punching someone in the face in the 300 block of Billings Street and is due in court June 4, reports said.bull; Gene A. Carlson, 48, who is homeless, was arrested and charged with trespassing, assault and possession of marijuana at 7:44 p.m. Saturday in the 0-99 block of Clock Tower Plaza, report said. Carlson, who is on the banned list for the shopping center at that address, threatened a security guard there, reports said. Officers found marijuana in his wallet, police said. bull; A DVD player was stolen between 5:30 p.m. Friday and 12:10 p.m. Saturday from a 2009 Chevy Malibu in the 100 block of Berkshire Court, reports said.bull; Artemio Villagomez, 30, of the 1100 block of Ash Drive, Elgin, was arrested and charged with aggravated DUI at 2:19 a.m. Friday, reports said. Villagomez was found passed out in his vehicle while it was illegally parked with its engine running in the 1100 block of Ash, reports said.Crystal Lakebull; A 23-year-old Crystal Lake man was charged with aggravated battery after he sent another man to the hospital, apparently for a comment the man made about his girlfriend, police said. A fight broke out between the two men about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in a parking lot outside the apartment complex where they were both attending a party. Officers responding to the scene didn't find the men, but did find a large amount of blood in the lot. Police later located one of the men, a 19-year-old from Crystal Lake, at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock, where he was being treated for facial and head injuries so severe he was unable to talk. Witnesses identified the other man as Michael A. Rome. Police arrested Rome at his home the following day. The aggravated battery charge carries a maximum sentence of two to five years in prison or up to 30 months of probation.
