Library board opening:The St. Charles Public Library board of trustees invites interested people to apply for an opening on the library board. The term will expire in May 2011. Taxpayers can go to kanecountytreasurer.org to view current tax information and print out duplicate bills. Also available on the website is a list of all unclaimed funds held by the treasurer's office. People can make payment by mailing the payment to the treasurer's office in the envelope provided, at a designated bank in Kane County, or in person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at the Treasurer David Rickert's office, 719 Batavia Ave., Geneva. There is also a payment drop box available 24 hours a day located behind Building A at the Government Center on Batavia Avenue. People can also pay by credit card or E-check over the Internet, but there is a convenience fee for each service.
