Franks, Tryon serve us well

There is much criticism, and deservedly so, of the Illinois legislature. McHenry County, however, is well served by State Reps. Jack Franks and Mike Tryon.

I recently saw these two on WTTW's "Chicago Tonight" and felt proud that they represent our county. Franks and Tryon spoke to the issues with sincerity and clarity and in a bipartisan manner. While the other guests bickered and finger pointed, McHenry County's legislators offered common sense solutions to our state's budget woes. They spoke of co-sponsoring legislation together that would require revenue estimates from an independent party before the state enacts a budget so the state can live within its means.

Later that same evening, I saw Rep. Franks on Fox News. I was impressed with his command of the facts and the process. It is clear that he is one of the few who is fighting for us in Springfield. If there were more legislators like Jack Franks and Mike Tryon, Illinois would be in much better shape.
