Larkin duo advances to state

Larkin seniors Amanda Somoulaylack and Catherine Sivoraphet earned their second trip to the IHSA girls badminton state finals at Eastern Illinois University Thursday night with a third-place finish at the Conant sectional. They dominated the No. 1 doubles team from Bartlett, Sabaa Ahmed and Ravina Nakum, in the third-place match, raising their season record to 18-6.

Bartlett's Monica Repisacak also advanced to state with a third-place singles finish.
