No foul play suspected in death at Fermilab
The DuPage County sheriff is investigating the death of a woman late Thursday morning at Fermilab in Batavia, and said foul play is not suspected.
The person's name, age and cause of death have not been released.
Fermilab employees investigating a noise in the lab's headquarters at Wilson Hall found a "young female" lying on the floor of the atrium, according to a statement released by the lab.
Batavia paramedics declared the person dead shortly after 11 a.m.
Fermilab emergency personnel, including an on-site doctor, were called to the scene immediately.
The multistory atrium is in the center of the 16-story building. There are several bridges.
The atrium has an information desk, and seating areas for the lab's cafeteria.
Fermilab officials directed requests for more information to the sheriff's office.
