Rep. Walker visits Salt Creek School in Elk Grove
State Rep. Mark Walker visited Salt Creek Elementary School in Elk Grove Village, Monday, and was able to see the state's Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports program in practice.
"The students at Salt Creek are so well behaved, and I'm sure that's a result of their teachers' passion and commitment," Walker said. "The state needs to help them by working to establish the best practice that will create results for these students now and in the future."
PBIS is a proactive system established by the state to help create safer, more effective schools. The program, which places an emphasis on positive, community based behavior support and individual goal setting, has been in place at Salt Creek for two years. For information, contact Rep. Walker's constituent service office at (847) 640-8645.
