This sweet and savory French toast makes Mom's day

Breakfast in bed served by your children is one of the rites of Motherhood. It may not be the reason you labored to bring forth your little angels, but it's a definite perk.

In the early years, breakfast may have been a frosted doughnut with sprinkles from the local shop (do kids know any other kind?).

Then as your children grew and became more capable in the kitchen breakfast evolved into a bowl of Fruit Loops or waffles warmed in the toaster and a bowl of berries topped with yogurt.

Maybe this is the year your sweet cherubs take it up a notch.

This easy-to-assemble casserole can be put together the night before (with a little supervision from Dad or an older child), refrigerated and baked just before serving on Mother's Day morning. Younger ones can whisk the eggs, layer the bread and pour the egg mixture.

Whatever their ages, your kids will feel like they helped make your day special.

Now if they would just stop bickering over who does more work and go out and weed the garden.
