Packers grooming 1st-rounder Bulaga as future LT

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Bryan Bulaga didn't really enjoy the run-up to the NFL draft. He'd rather play football than be poked and prodded by scouts and analyzed by so-called draft experts.

The Green Bay Packers' first-round draft pick doesn't really understand, for example, why some people were obsessing about the length of his arms. Speaking to reporters during his introductory news conference Thursday, the Iowa offensive lineman joked that he's never found himself in the middle of a game wishing his arms were a little longer.

Short arms or not, it's no reach to say the Packers are grooming Bulaga to be their left tackle of the future. Veteran Chad Clifton will be the starter again this season and Bulaga is likely to back him up. If everything goes according to plan, Bulaga eventually will replace him.
