It's all good between Kane and Vancouver's Luongo

There is no bad blood between Patrick Kane and Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo.

Kane said there was no nastiness intended when Luongo said to him, "See you in the playoffs," when the two met in the handshake line following the Olympic gold medal game in February.

"We were just kind of shaking hands and he looked back and said, 'I'll see you in the playoffs this year,'" Kane said. "It was kind of a weird thing how it came up, but I guess it's going to happen.

"He said it jokingly, smile on his face. That's the first time, to be honest with you, that I ever talked to him."

It was Kane who burned Luongo in that memorable Game 6 of the second round last spring with a hat trick in the Hawks' 7-5 win at the United Center that eliminated the Canucks.

"I don't have anything against Kane," Luongo told the Vancouver Sun. "He's a great player. It's the Blackhawks against the Canucks. That's the only rivalry we're concerned about. It's nothing malicious, as far as I'm concerned."

Kesler vs. Ladd: Talking to reporters in Vancouver on Tuesday, Ryan Kesler claimed he has no running feud with Andrew Ladd despite clashes in the playoffs and in a January game in Vancouver.

It was a check from Ladd that broke Kesler's nose in the playoffs. Kesler, remembering the hit, went after Ladd in January and the two fought, with Ladd ending the scrap with one punch to Kesler's face.

Kesler called Ladd a coward following the game.

"Ladd is a guy who plays hard," Kesler said. "I don't think there is any rivalry there. What's done is done. We fought and that's the end of it.

"There are no selfish guys on this team who are going to close up an individual battle and make the team suffer."

Eight is enough: The Hawks recalled eight players from their Rockford minor-league affiliate on Wednesday for various reasons.

Center Jake Dowell, winger Jack Skille, goalie Hannu Toivonen and defensemen Jassen Cullimore and Danny Richmond were brought up as insurance against injuries.

Winger Kyle Beach and defensemen Brian Connolly and Shawn Lalonde were recalled more for the experience of being around the team in the playoffs.

All eight Hawks, along with goalie Corey Crawford, will practice after the team's regular workout.

Tip-ins: With Dustin Byfuglien moving back to wing, either Jordan Hendry or Nick Boynton will replace him on defense for Game 1 - Adam Burish appears to be the odd man out of the lineup at forward with the Byfuglien switch - The Canucks will practice in Vancouver again Thursday before flying to Chicago.
