Play Bunco to help horses find a loving home
It's time to play Bunco and raise money to care for abused and neglected horses.
Field of Dreams Horse Rescue and Adoption is hosting a Bunco Night, complete with cash and raffle prizes, from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, April 30, at the Campton Township Community Center, 5N082 Old La Fox in Campton Hills.
Cost for this event is $25 per person, or $100 for a table of four. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Call Kim at (630) 231-1011 or (630) 853-9620 to confirm your registration.
The local nonprofit, all-volunteer horse rescue in rural St. Charles would not exist without donations. Its goal is to help horses in their care find permanent, loving homes in their "field of dreams."
They work with local community agencies to facilitate the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of abused, abandoned or relinquished horses. They promote volunteering before anyone adds an equine companion to their home so people can see what the true responsibilities of horse ownership are all about.
The organization has about 60 volunteers, ages 12 to 66, from the Tri-Cities to Naperville, Roselle, Campton Hills, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Aurora, Carol Stream, Maple Park, Virgil, South Elgin, Niles, Sycamore, Elburn, Hanover Park and La Fox.
