Sophomore Sam Bolin scattered 7 hits and South Elgin handled Prairie Ridge ace Johanna Turner Saturday to beat the Wolves 4-3 in eight innings in Game 1 of a nonconference doubleheader.

Prairie Ridge came back to win Game 2 by a 6-0 score as freshman Kirsten Stevens tossed a 6-hitter.

Rae Bosteder's double to right-center field in the top of the eighth inning of Game 1 scored Katelyn Stonecipher with the game-winning run for South Elgin.

Xenia Cerda took the loss in Game 2 for the Storm (6-10).

Stagg 5, Bartlett 1: Bartlett had a 6-game winning streak snapped with this loss on the road to south suburban power Stagg and former Elgin coach Missy Mason. Allyse Taormina had a double for the Hawks (13-6) and Callie Dennison was the tough-luck losing pitcher. Dennison (10-4) didn't allow an earned run, giving up 10 hits with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.
