Bears sign free agent Jamar Williams

The Bears announced the signing of restricted free agent linebacker Jamar Williams. Williams signed his one-year tender offer from the Bears. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Williams had a career-high 49 tackles during the 2009 season with two pass break ups and 10 special teams stops in 16 contests for the Bears. In Week 13 versus St. Louis, Williams recorded a career-high 19 tackles while starting at weakside linebacker.

His 19 tackles were tied for third most by a Bears player in a single game since at least 1995.

Entering his fifth NFL season in 2010, the 2006 fourth-round draft pick (120th overall) has 78 defensive tackles, one sack, six pass break ups and 43 special teams stops in 51 career contests with Chicago
