Health care law will bankrupt nation

As I consider the direction of our country I am saddened and distressed that so many seem to misunderstand the effect of the health care bill that was passed. Just because one needs health care doesn't mean that the bill that was passed will be good for us. We cannot afford this health care and it will bankrupt our country.

According to the Heritage Foundation, in 2010, Washington will spend over $30,000 per family, the highest amount ever in American history. Yet they will only collect roughly $18,000 from each family in taxes. We need to cut spending drastically, even if it hurts, as it surely will. There is a shortage of doctors, and this bill will cause many doctors to retire or quit their jobs. What good is a health care insurance policy if one cannot get an appointment to see a doctor without a long wait. Health care will have to be rationed.

There are problems that need to be fixed: Why can't we have reform so our doctors don't pay so much for liability insurance? Why can't we allow competition so we can buy insurance across state lines, which will reduce the cost? Why can't we get rid of waste and fraud to save billions of dollars?

According to the Heritage Foundation, the new health care bill is fraught with bad news for young adults, spiking insurance premiums for young people 29 and under by up to 17 percent. Additionally, the student loan add-ins will cause a hefty increase in student loan rates.

And on top of that they will be paying social security and most likely will never get any money back when they retire. Americans, we must seek lawmakers who will repeal the bill and start over to create a better bill. Our freedom is at stake.
