Man killed in Westmont muffler shop blast

A man is dead following an explosion at a Westmont muffler shop this morning.

The Westmont fire department says an employee of the Midas Muffler shop near Odgen and Rosyln died in the explosion that occurred about 9:50 a.m.

A spokesman for Midas says the blast occurred outside the building and did not come from a vehicle.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notice of relatives.

Westmont fire and police departments are investigating.
