Lifeguard classes offered:The Norris Recreation Center in St. Charles is offering two-day Red Cross Lifeguard Classes. The dates are Saturday and Sunday and April 24 and 25. The class will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the cost is $225 for certification. Volunteers will join park staff at selected locations to collect litter, haul light brush and help remove invasive plant species. Volunteers will be placed in parks closest to their homes. Sellers who wish to have their location on the official map and advertising materials can do so for $30. The deadline to sign up is 5 p.m. April 23. Proceeds from the fee pay for the Fourth of July fireworks show. The fee is $300 per team or $60 per person, which includes three games, shoe rentals, raffles, pizza and pop.
