Oil change benefit for cancer

DJ's Auto Service Center in Schaumburg will host its fifth annual Carole A. Origer Memorial Oil Change Benefit from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17.

Carole A. Origer, who died of cancer in 2005, was the mother of DJ's owner, Dan Origer. Money raised during the benefit is donated to the American Cancer Society. Oil changes are $25 for standard, $50 for synthetic and diesel. NAPA Auto parts donates all the oil and filters and the techs volunteer their time.

There will be raffles and light refreshments served. Last year's event exceeded $4,000 and Dan Origer hopes to break $5,000 this year.

DJ's Auto Center is at 495 Estes Ave., one block south of Wise Road and Mitchell Avenue. (847) 923-0780.
