Bond sale won't hurt Palatine

Palatine Village Manager Reid Ottesen on Monday reported that the $27 million bond sale proposed by Palatine Township Elementary District 15 would have a negligible effect on the village's bond rating, or no effect at all.

He said Palatine only makes up 50 percent of the district's assessed valuation, so the debt will be spread around a number of communities and corporations including Arlington Park and Motorola.

Palatine plans on moving forward with a bond issue of its own soon in order to fund the new police headquarters.
