Why are we firing the teachers?

I am flabbergasted by the approach of firing all the teachers in a school to improve student performance. In the corporate world, the equivalent would be when a company is not performing well, to fire virtually all the employees.

In my opinion, this approach is the easy way out. Wonderful teachers are lost in the process.
