Shed fire in Wildwood

A storage shed caught fire Thursday in Wildwood, damaging some low-hanging power lines and telephone cables, firefighters said. The fire was reported at 5:24 p.m. on the 18200 block of West Lindenwood Drive, at a 10-by-10 shed outside a single-family home. Batallion Chief Peter Nowak of the Grayslake Fire Department said firefighters put out the fire and completed an on-scene investigation by 7 p.m. He said the fire did not appear suspicious but investigators were still trying to determine a cause. The shed, which was filled with items, was a total loss, he said. No injuries were reported.
