Costco not solution for Hubble site

The availability of the old Hubble Middle School site for development provides Wheaton planners with a truly unique opportunity. This site is a natural gateway to the downtown area from Roosevelt and Naperville roads and how it is developed will either reestablish or redefine Wheaton's identity.

It was a great relief then to hear that the proposal for a Costco 'big box' store had been considered but was thought probably not to be the best use for the site. While fiscal factors are no doubt tempting, I encourage Wheaton's planners to seek development that strongly maintains the warm personality of the community.
