Senior fun in ElburnThe Elburn Seniors club meets at 11:30 a.m. the first Thursday of the month at the Elburn Lions Club, 400 S. Filmore St. You do not have to live in Elburn to participate. Bring a dish to pass and your own table service. Coffee, iced tea and lemonade are furnished. Cards, bingo and other games are played. Dues are $15 per year per person, of which $5 goes toward the annual pork chop dinner in August and $10 for a Christmas party. The club has a picnic in July. The Blue Ribbon Schools award distinguishes and honors schools for helping students achieve at high levels and for making significant progress in closing the achievement gap. Geneva is one of 16 Illinois schools nominated. The award will be announced in September.
