Call in your order, and Randall To Go will get it

A new business is making it a little easier to get food from some of your favorite restaurants along Randall Road.

This week, Randall To Go started delivering meals from places such as Yen Ching Express #2 on Randall Road in Carpentersville to homes up and down the Randall Road corridor.

They are charging a flat $3.95 delivery fee to just about anywhere within 25 minutes of the Randall Road corridor, Randall To Go President Brad Garlin said. They also have a $5.95 fee for delivery to Del Webb.

However, to help introduce people to the business, Garlin said he has $10 coupons available to everyone via his Web site - randalltogo.com - to help offset the delivery fee and more.

To get the delivery service, first you need to make a call to Randall To Go at (888) 994-2754.

All of the participating restaurants have their delivery menus at randalltogo.com.

So far, Garlin has on board with his business: Café Roma in South Elgin, Famo's Subs and Salads in West Dundee, Fradillio's, Red Robin and Subway in Algonquin, Papa Saverio's and the Chocolate Shoppe in Lake in the Hills, and Yen Ching #2 in Carpentersville.

However, he said, he is in talks with many other restaurants along the Randall Road corridor to make their menus available via Randall To Go.

If you're interesting in ordering, orders can be processed online or called in.

Randall to Go then takes the order, verifies it for authenticity, faxes it to the restaurant and then dispatches a driver to the restaurant to pick up the food for delivery, Garlin said.

If you've lived in places like Schaumburg or Wheaton you may be familiar with such a delivery service.

Garlin himself lived in Wheaton, which has TakeOutTaxi.

"When I moved out to this area seven years ago, I was disappointed to find nothing similar out here," Garlin said.

"Me and some friends joked about launching our own restaurant delivery service about 5 years back, but decided not to pursue it after looking into the financials further," he said. "I revisited the thought about a year ago and brainstormed the name Randall To Go. I joked that I would start the business if the URL was available. Well, it was, and here we are."

Garlin said he's hoping the business does catch on in this area as well.

To begin, he said, after paying his employees and covering costs, he plans to give 100 percent of profits to local families in need.

"I started out my professional career as a schoolteacher in East Aurora where I certainly received quite an education myself," Garlin said. "I was profoundly impacted by the things I saw and have desired to give back to the community in some way ever since. I see this as my chance."
