Mundelein Park District has day, night activities for kids to find eggs

Eggs-tra special fun comes by the dozen with colorful egg hunts and a visit from the Spring Bunny at Mundelein Park and Recreation District.

Families with children ages 1 to 6 can hop on over to the Mundelein Park District's free spring egg hunt for a rainbow of plastic and special prize eggs. The hunt will be held on Friday, April 2, with kids collecting in age groups beginning at 10 a.m. at Mundelein's Keith Mione Community Park, 1401 N. Midlothian Road.

Bring along a basket and a camera for bunny photos. Ronald McDonald will also be there, handing out coupons for free ice cream to kids, courtesy of Mundelein McDonald's. Adult supervision is required. No registration is needed. A rain date is set for April 3.

Children ages 7 to 12 can get candy at the park district's super-sleuthing nighttime egg challenge. Bring a basket and flashlight and try your luck for one of the special prize eggs. The night hunt will be held on Wednesday, March 31, at 8 p.m. at Diamond Lake Beach, 1016 Diamond Lake Road in Mundelein. Cost is $8 ($11 non-resident). Kids will also receive a coupon for free fries, thanks to Mundelein McDonald's. Preregistration and adult supervision are required. No registration will done at the event. Please dress for the weather. A rain date is scheduled for April 1.
