'The Gift of Art' series at Barrington Area Library

In the continuing effort to support and promote artists in the Chicagoland area, The Northwest Cultural Council has designed a series of seminars on topics that are of special interest to artists beginning 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10.

Caroline Soodek, partner and Art Law team leader at Bryan Cave, LLP in Chicago will address legal and business issues in the art world critical to preserving the artist's ownership rights, valuing and insuring art and protecting the artist's interests. Failure to understand the dynamic and changing art law and business environment can result in drastic consequences-failed investments, costly and unending disputes and, sometimes, heartbreaking loss of a work of art.

The Gift of Art Series of Seminars is held in the Zimmerman Room at Barrington Area Library, 505 N. Northwest Highway, Barrington. All artists are invited to attend, but seating is limited. Reservations are strongly recommended. Each seminar is $15, $5 for students. Send a check to:
