Lawmakers should make sacrifices, too

Gov. Quinn wants the taxpayers of Illinois to pay 50 percent more in income tax to pay off the debt Illinois has amassed. He also wants to make cuts in other services including education.

I have some very good suggestions for the governor and all the politicians who put us into this mess. 1) All Democratic and Republican lawmakers in this state take a pay cut. 2) Look into all perks and extras that these lawmakers get from the governor on down, and let's see what we can trim; try cars, they can take public transportation like taking the train to get to Springfield.

We're in hock up to our ears in this state because of all the corruption, and it's about time the people put the politicians in their place. If we are going to hurt financially, so should they. They are the ones who caused this mess in the first place.
