Streamwood parks go green

The Streamwood Park District will cease delivering its seasonal program brochures for environmental and financial reasons. The park district will rely on Web surfers to download the brochures at streamwoodparkdistrict.org.

The summer issue, debuting on April 7, also gets a new online design. Stopping delivery means the park district will print half of the number of brochures, dropping the number to 8,000. They'll still be available at Park Place Family Recreation Center, Hoosier Grove Barn, the Community Center, or the administration offices.

Other locations for pickup are Streamwood Village Hall, the police station, Poplar Creek Library, Hanover Township offices and the Astor Avenue Community Center in Hanover Park. The Chamber of Commerce office and the Streamwood Family Credit Union also will make the brochure available.

The park district is also compiling an e-mail list. Call (630) 483-3025, or e-mail registration@streamwoodparkdistrict.org to be added.
